What Medicare Bulk Billing Means for You and Your Family

As a Bulk Billing Practice:
* We bulk bill all Medicare-eligible patients for eligible services.
* This means no out-of-pocket costs for standard GP consultations covered by Medicare.
* We are committed to providing accessible, affordable healthcare to our community.

What Is Bulk Billing

Bulk billing is when your doctor bills Medicare directly for your visit, so you don’t have to
pay.
It covers services such as:
* General consultations
* Chronic disease management
* Mental health care plans
* Health assessments

Who Is Eligible

All patients with a valid Medicare card are eligible for bulk billed services. If you’re
unsure, our reception team can help check your eligibility. Medicare Card must be presented
at the time of consultation.

Services with Fees

Please note that the following services are Not Covered by Medicare Bulk Billing and
attract a fee:
* Pre Employment Medicals
* Commercial Driver’s License Assessments
* Non-Government Funded Vaccines incl Qfever
* Procedures incl Iron Infusions
* Overseas Visitors
Please speak to our friendly reception team for fees on Non Medicare Bulk Billed services.
Payment is required at the time of consultation. Eftpos Preferred.

Non-Attendance Fee Policy

We do understand that things pop up, and you may need to reschedule or cancel
your appointment, however we do ask that you provide us with at least 30mins notice
prior to your appointment time. In the event that you do not provide us with notice, a
$20.00 fee (no Medicare rebate) may apply.

Specialist Referrals

• Your Doctor can deal with a wide range of medical problems. However, occasionally a Specialist referral is necessary. A referral letter from your Doctor is needed to receive a Medicare rebate for the Specialist visit.
• Please note that we are no permitted by law to backdate specialist referrals and appointments are require for all referrals.

Medical Certificates

• These can only be obtained after consultation with your Doctor and only for genuine illnesses.
• It is not legal to backdate medical certificates.

Repeat Prescriptions

• An appointment must be made for all repeat prescriptions for review and management of your medical condition.

Worker’s Compensation

• Fees for work related injuries will be forward directly to your companies nominated insurer. It is the responsibility of the patient and their employer to submit a claim by forwarding the necessary forms to the insurer.

Reminder System

• Our practice is committed to preventative care. We have a reminder system in place which offers preventative health services appropriate to your care. If you do not wish to receive routine reminders please inform the practice manager.

Test Results

• You Doctor will advise you at the time of consultation on how to obtain the results of any tests requested. Generally results will not be discussed over the phone.

Privacy

• Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.  See in practice for full Practice Privacy Policy.
